Nano Help Please Respond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

is it nessisary to run a filter on a nano what happenes if you dont does the water go stagnant im planning to keep shrimp only and have lots of plants ? is a heater nessisary? ill be using a plain old light 35 watts or mabey a pc bulb 13 watts please leave a comment it would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks for the help!

No its not necessary to run a filter. If you have enough plants in there you should be okay. Once your tank establishes itself you should have no problem.

If your nano is kept in a room that maintains decent temps you should be okay. But if its in the basement or something then you probably need one.

how big is your nano? I have a pico nano which is about 1 gallon. I don't use heater or have filter on there. it has been 3 weeks now and the shrimps and plants are doing well.

I don't use a heater in my 2.5 gallon nano, and everything is fine. The light heats the water just right and it cools to room temperature at night, which I like because it's more natural. I do use a filter though, because I like to have water movement.

thanks for the help water movement isint a biggie for me as im going to keep shrimp ! and i dont have a nano yet im just seriously consedring one 1/2 gallon to 4 gallon it its a four i might try a very small pump.

I have a 1 gal on my dining table that has no heater or filter and only gets sunlight. Just plants and snails. I only do a 1 cup water change when I think of it. No ferts on either, no CO2.

I've had slighty larger tanks with just the same set up and with a betta. Just do water changes in a semi casual fashion, wipe the sides down inside once a month.

For some reason, these tanks never have had algae problems...
