First Tank on the Way

Okay. The tank I thought I could use to start a planted tank was cracked. I bought this one on ebay--I can't seem to post pics like other members [do I have to have a certain number of posts?] so here's the description:

12.25" x 7.5" x 10.25" high, brand-new in box
4 gallon round corner glass tank (5mm glass)
13W power compact fluorescent lighting, silver aluminum hood, with polished reflector, acrylic lens
Include one 13W daylight bulb or blue/white (50/50) bulb. If not have bulb color specified in the order, a daylight bulb will be shipped.
Hang on filter, 31 gallon per hour flow, spnge and carbon cartidge filtration
Great for live plant tank or mini reef setup

I know everyone said NOT to try nano at first, but I don't have much room and I don't like those ugly generic tanks. I live near Figgy and she said to try to get a 7500K bulb and not to use the carbon filter. Is there a page like Rex's page but for nanos?

Thank you--Cherry

You can get the URL of the image and use this tag ...

When dealing w/ nano tanks, you won't have to worry too much about too much light as it is different for smaller tanks.

No, my page says I can't post attachments...but there's a pic up now.

I was thinking I'd like some small rocks--where to find really small ones?

When you have not joined the site as a supporting member you can only link to pictures from someplace else on the internet. Supporting members are afforded some picture storage on the site, like Figgy has demonstrated.

Small rocks are easy to find, small rocks with character are much harder to seperate from the host of small rocks.

That looks like a fun little tank.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

It's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

That IS an aquascape, it's titled "The Vacant Lot".

I just got mine in the mail and I love it! The filter is crap, but a Red Sea Nano Filter fits perfectly. Sweet light too!

Would someone link me to the Ebay pages for these things?

Here it is http://cgi.ebay.com/Finnex-4-Gallon-...QQcmdZViewItem

I wished they made it a bit bigger but still that's the best nano tank I've seen so far.

I can't believe it, it came yesterday. That was like 24 hour delivery! Now I have to get to work!

Shiruba (brand name of the filter came with the tank) and Red Sea Nano filters are made by a same factory.

The bulb is 13 watt "daylight" and sits pretty much in the center with a reflector behind it. It sits above the tank. It's hairpin shaped--there's probably a word for that?

I've been so busy, I haven't set anything up yet

looks like a nice start - if fundage (and space) permitted I would order a set up like that myself.

58 gallon oceanic, Kessel 360 tun sun, pressurized co2, eheim pimp #179 - 2217 and diffuser
