co2 or excel?

I heard i could get pretty good results using just excel for small tanks. My tank is 5.5 gal, my budget is limited so im not sure if i want to use injection.
Any feed back will be nice!
Thx

if it was my tank i'd just buy myself a 2L bottle of excel and use that cause even if you do the diy co2 route you need to find a diffuser for the tank and all that bulky stuff in a nano doesn't look that good

See the quote below from Tom Barr “barrreport.com” on dosing a nano-tank.

Do you really want faster growth with 8" of height?
My nano's are non CO2/non Excel with good reason.

I tried excel with my nanos and found no differance in plant growth. DIY Co2 gave good results, but now I am non Co2.

I'm about to try excel in my nano, it is moss and anaubias only. I wouldnt use CO2, seems like a pain for such a small tank.
