Hagen Elite Filter

I don't make it a habit to check out the local chain stores, but I was a few stores down, had picked out my books, and needed to kill a little time, so I ran to Petco. I was pleasently suprised. Apart from their very nice looking, mulitple varieties of rainbow fish, running about 4$ each in several species, I found several tanks perfect for planted nanos.

What made me stop, and actually purchase something however, was the Hagen Elite filter. A small, internal filter, easily the smallest I've ever seen, even compaired to the Duettos, rated for a 1-3 gallon tank, complete with sponge, and adjustable flow rate. All for only 9 bucks. For anyone looking for a small internal filter for their tanks, I highly recommend it. It's silent and TINY.

No, I think that one has a name that sort of reminds you of that. This one is boxy with a fan-shaped outflow thing and an airline tube out the top. I got one with a 1.77 gallon tank some years ago, and now it's in my planted 1.5 gallon betta jar.

I think Duetto puts out a MINI filter that adjusts all the way down to 2 gph. So that might be another option.

I was at a Petco the other day and also ran across a mini heater made by Hydor: http://www.petco.com/Shop/Product.as...&Ntt=hydor+hea
