Question A Few Questions

Hi, I'm new to these forums, and have a few questions.
I am starting my first fully planted tank, a 2.5 gallon. I have some experience with aquatic plants, and experience with terrestrials. I've got a good idea of my setup already but there are a few things I am unsure of. I'm going to be using a red sea nano filter, a 19W 6500k screw-in fluorescent bulb in a lamp, and DIY CO2. Is this enough light? They are the same lights I use on vivariums. I've done a lot of reading on planted tanks but obviously, there isn't much written for nanos. In a tank this size I am unsure of the best substrate/substrate ferts to use. If it wasn't so expensive (and I needed more) I would buy a bag of eco-complete, and no local stores sell it loose. I am planning on some Anubias, HC, riccia, maybe pennywort, and some other small plants. As for cycling, I am not sure what to do. I was going to do a fishless cycle with ammonia and filter seed, but I don't know how well this would work with plants. Sorry for all the newbie questions!

Would that light be ok for a while? I am thinking about ordering one of these http://www.soslightbulbs.com/shop/cu...at=1038&page=2 and ....eventually a DIY hood with compacts from ahsupply. I forgot to ask, how deep should the substrate be in a 2.5 also?
Thanks!

That light should be ok for some plants. Probably only low light plants though. I have a 13w over my 2.5 and the anubias, java and anachris grows fine. That's all I've had in there. I'm actually somewhat surprised the anachris still grows as I don't fertilize this tank and there is little bioload.
