Slim heater inside filter

Hey guys and gals, I was wondering if it would be fine if I place the slim 7.5 or 15 watt heater inside the FLUVAL Edge HOB filter?

I think the little one would work. Make sure there is good water movement around it so the heat ends up in the tank, not heating the side of the filter.

I modded a regular HOB filter from a cheap kit to have sponges instead of the regular filter packets, and had room to put a small heater in there. I really prefer having everything all nice and tucked away like that instead of having the heater in the tank.

I always remove those worthless filter cartridges and place sponges and bio media or mech media. A slim heater like that will be fine in the hob filter. It won't melt it unless it malfunctions and stay on the 'on' position but that will take a while for a low wattage heater.

If you want something that's slim and adjustable, you could consider the Cobalt Neo Therm. I enjoy them quite a bit.

I'll look that up, thanks for the recommendation.
