Talking Nano PFR Shrimp Cube

Hi everyone

I started a shrimp cube August 8th. At least that's when I started doing a fishless cycle.

Tank is an 8 in cube i got from lfs with black silicone
Fluval Shrimp Stratum
Zoomed 501 nano canister filter, sponge covered intake
Finnex epoch 26w clipon

Christmas Moss on a small piece of DW
Fissidens on 2x2 ss mesh
Rose moss on 2x2 ss mesh

Only PFR Shrimp in the tank, 3 Berried Shrimp Mommas!

and here are the pics.
Oh and a question are the eggs in the shrimps belly supposed to be that color? And when do they typically "hatch" or become baby shrimp. I first noticed a pregnant shrimp around a week ago maybe
Thanks for looking!

They take 3-5 weeks to hatch and the eggs can be yellow or green. The tank looks good!!!

Neo eggs typically hatch in about 28ish days. Range in all colors from white to brown. Mostly yellow or occasionally green.

Thanks for the compliment. As you can see this tank has been through alot lol.

I'm going to pick up some black sponge soon to cover the intake, hate the look of yellow sponge.

But overall im satisfied with the look right now

That's the only thing I didn't understand about your tank

Everything looks good except for that yellow car wash sponge you're using to cover up the intake. Surprised you didn't just go with the standard Fluval black sponge prefilter from the beginning.
  • Why did you remove the java moss covered branch?
  • Are you only planning to grow moss in the tank?

I've learned so much patience for this hobby; waiting for tanks to fill in, shrimp to breed, shrimp to hatch, shrimp to mature, waiting for boxes of plants to arrive, etc. etc.

Great tank. I like it!

it was covered in fissidens and i moved it to a differrent tank for now, but i am thinking of moving it back
and you i think it will be a moss only tank, but i would consider putting in some plants but i wont be dosing ferts or co2 so that limits me a bit

Update!

Update time

I've replaced the yellow sponge with a nice black one, started a Christmas moss wall on the right side of the tank (its doing pretty well), a small wall of unknown moss from another tank that was dead/not doing so well. I also put the manzanita branch with fissidens back, attached to the wall with a suction cup . Added some downoi in the front as well, hope it survives.

My question too. I have a Fluval Ebi up and running. Newly born Crystal Red Shrimp (my first) in it last Saturday. (Still the proud grandpa!)
