Why not go bigger AND smaller?
You may have read my other threads, where I was coveting my neighbor's old 55g, or talking about starting from scratch w/ something larger.
This a.m. early we went to pick up the neighbor's dog, which we are watching for a week. I measured the tank. It is a 48x12x20 55gal. So on the one hand, I was a little disappointed that it wasn't a 70 or 90. But on the other hand, my wife said, "This stand (oak) will look great downstairs!" I pointed out the undergravel heater and standard strip light and said, "You realize that I'm not interested in much of these extras." And she said, "If you got it for free or $25, you'd put up with it?" So it looks like that is likely to happen.
I left home to pick up my buddy to play golf. And my buddy says he was cleaning out his basement and he found an old 3g acrylic hex. I could either take it or he would throw it out. It is a total joke, with just a pump, no heater, and a nightlight bulb. Gotta love the box - it says "Just add water and fish!" Damn! I guess it's that easy!
I'm gonna take it to work and go nano!
All this before 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning.
Life is good!
Looks like I'm gonna have to edit my sig one of these days!
