2 Gallon Planted Cookie Jar

this is my planted 2 gallon cookie jar that I got from walmart. I am growing some water wisteria, red ludwigia, mondo grass, and some christmas moss. The christmas moss is tied to some driftwood i got from my LFS and also tied to some rocks I got from my backyard. I have a two layer substrate: soil with black gravel on top. I am running an aquaclear 30 HOB filter (sponge, activated carbon, and ceramic media). I also have an air pump to provide oxygen and water movement; as well as a DIY CO2 system. As for lighting, I have an Aqueon 50/50 Daylight/Bluelight mini compact fluorescent bulb that runs 10-14 hours a day. This tank is stocked with 1 dwarf puffer and 2 otos. Before you guys criticize and say that a puffer needs at least 5 gallons, I have done my research and do weekly water changes and he seems to be very happy. There are plenty of plants to break the line of sight so he feels very protected. Any and all comments are welcomed, good or bad. I hope you enjoy.

ps.
any tips on how to get my christmas moss a bright green? thanks in advance

Mondo grass isn't aquatic.

Instead of mondo grass, why not try dwarf sag? looks quite similar, and dwarf sag is a true aquatic plant.

I bought Mondo Grass from Petsmart/Petco in the past thinking it was aquatic. It will live submersed for about a month but the roots will eventually rot and the leaves will turn yellow. It is a really cool looking plant though. Supposedly they (Petco/Petsmart) have begun putting stickers on their plants labeling them aquatic or non-aquatic plants. Why the couldn't have figured out to put a sticker on it years ago is insane to me.

If there's a solution to your problem then you have nothing to worry about. If there isn't, then you have nothing to worry about either.

Run your air stone at night because that's when plants take in Oxygen. During the day they only take in CO2

I bought kyoto grass once from PetSmart, it's similar to mondo grass and both were labeled as semi-aquatic.

My roommate says I'll die by giant turtle.
