baby tears

So I have a TON of baby tears plant that floats on top of my tank and reproduces like CRAZY!! I would like to grow it as a ground cover though. How to I go about tying it down to a rock? Do I just use a net type material or what? Thanks in advance!

If it's growing a lot, it's probably HM, pearl weed. You can just plant the stems into the substrate with tweezers. Watch out for shrimp and fish that might pull it out, though.

here is a top view

and here is a cool pic of the roots hanging down

and if having to plant them one by one I could never even imagine that they would actually stay down into the gravel...They would constantly become uprooted before they could even take root....Any tips???

Thats actually duckweed. A floating plant, not meant to be planted in substrate.

Yup, duckweed. Get as much of it out as you can, but you'll never get all them out.

It's just annoying if you don't really want it. It can block out a lot of light.

Its a matter of opinion. I actually keep it in every single tank I have and really enjoy it. It helps suck up excess nutrients. It does grow like crazy, I usually scoop about half of it out once ever 2 weeks or so in order to keep it from getting too thick.
