5 gallon worth it?

I've got a 5 gallon tank kit set up the aquarium itself has a small crack in the back. Would it be okay to use sealant to seal it for a Nano set up?

Is the tank acrylic or glass?

Aquariums themselves are so inexpensive.

I'd buy a new one before I'd fool around with a broken one. Five gallons doesn't seem like a lot, but one gallon of water is a heck of a lot when it is on the floor!

I agree, 4 years ago I used one of the old tanks my siblings used to have and when I set it up in my room, minutes later 3-4 gallons of water was flooding my room. It was horrible, never will use an old tank again.

Just got a new 5 gallon tank myself. $14. Worth the peace of mind, if you ask me.

Well then I guess the old 5 gallon has seen it's day. Our LFS sells the 10 gallon tanks and kits for around 40.00 bucks no 5 gallons.

One more question

Can I use the 5 gallon hood and fixture on a 10 gallon if I add side pieces to it?

Just get a glass top and you can place the strip light on top.
