1.5 gallon lighting.

So i have had this ugly little 1.5 gallon tetra tank i used for a betta quarantine just sitting around for ever and decided to take it apart and set it up!
So...I de-rimmed, cut off the light and base, and now have a nice looking cube!

STUFF:
Red sea nano HOB filter
Regular gravel
76 degrees F- No heater...May add one though.
Adding flourish excel and comprehensive

PLANTS:
Java moss on slate
Java fern
Hygro polysperma 'Rosanervig'

LIVING:
Nerite Snail.
Betta (not a permanent home)
Going to be adding RCS.

So my question is: What light should i use? How many watts, etc.
I have a regualr desk lamp with 15 watt bulb on there right now, but after a day i already see green algae so...yea.

You could use fluvals 13w nano light, I use that over a 2.5 but what are the dimensions of the tank? And yes, remove that betta before ya add the RCS

Trust me i know its not cheap. haha just looking for the cheapest option...Like under $40 kinda thing.

my tanks dimensions are: 7.5" x 7.5" x 8"

I'm looking at Foster and Smiths right now...Don't see a nano light unit though.
I'll check amazon next.

Hmm, well i did find a couple on Pets and ponds...I have no idea if they ship up here though. haha

So do you think that fluval light will work? I mean, it won't be to much light kinda thing?
I may decide to go all out and get some Fluval stratnum, as well as add a bottle of DIY CO2...We will see. haha
But yea, for now, would that light cause to much algae?

Thanks for all your help, and such quick replys!
Now I will do some research and see what others think and go from there.

So how would this 7 watt light unit work?

http://ca-en.hagen.com/Aquatic/Light...-Systems/13415

I totally forgot about it, but i have it setup on a 2.5 gallon pen pals display at work, and it is nice and bright on that tank so...Do you think it would be enough for this 1.5 gallon planted tank?

That might work. I didnt see any details however... Difficult to say. 7watts is certainly enough to light a 1.5 tho
