1.5g nano equipment?

So I gave my 5g to my girlfriends little sister and took her old 1.5g.. Made it rimless and am hoping to get it planted with possibly some shrimp or a betta.

Lighting

Right now it has a 9 led low watt fixture probabbly 1w fixture at max so pretty sure I'm going to need an upgrade was looking at
http://www.amazon.com/EL-BW21SL-Finn...7226478&sr=8-2

Would that be decent lighting to grow various mosses and ferns.

Now for heaters and filter do I even need to heat this or will shrimp do fine without it? If I do need one any suggestions? Was looking at the hydor 25w theo heaters.. Filters I was either going to go with a sponge or a azoo palm filter.

Any suggestions or experiences on any of the equipment or other alternatives more then welcome. Thanks

Honestly heating would depend on where you live/average temp in your house. I live in socal so it never really gets super devastatingly cold here even in middle of winter. My taanks maintain high 70's no problem. But if you could, i think there is a heater thats like a mat, im not sure how well those work but i would think it would take up less space espeicially since your tank is so small but gotta look into it more.

For my derimmed 1.5 gallon i use a red sea nano HOB filter, and a cheap 2-15 gallon tetra heater for when i house critters in there. It all works great.

Any thoughts on the lighting for this tank? What would I need to maintain a healthy carpet plant such as hc or glosso?
