Mini sump for nano tank

Hi guys, I've been reading the forum for a while but never posted. A couple months ago I had an idea for a mini sump on my 3g round tank. I never saw anything looking like it on here so I decided to show you guys.

The setup:

The filter:

The overflow:

The outlet pipe:

The pump(tom's aqualifter):

Here it is, pretty basic. I usually put a sponge to prevent the duckweed to go in the overflow box since the pipe are really small. As for the "sump", it's a bottle filled with biomax and a sponge on top. The water drip threw the sponge and then it get suck up by the aqualifter from the bottom of the bottle. I might be planning on getting a bigger bottle and putting it under the desk to add more water in the system. Also, the overflow box is made out of acrylic and it holds with epoxy.

Hopefully, it will give ideas to some of you.

Cool idea! I bet it was fun to get creative with a filtration system like that! Another added bonus is the fact that by adding the filter you've effectively increased the amount of water in the system. The more water the easier a tank is to maintain! I like your idea, try a larger bottle and post some results!
