new shrimp bowl!

I just got a new bowl from petsmart here it is:javascript:theForm.showEnhanced('3441531'); I am gonna put some shrimp in it (cherry or crs) some water from my 20 gallon and possibly a scarlet badis. anyways I know I don't need a filter but what should my water change regiment be? and probably some diy lighting. I will try and get picks whenever I can.

DIY lighting isn't really needed just get a desk lamp-put a CFL 6500k 10 watt bulb in it---turn it on.
Also your pic isn't showing try using photobucket, it's free and really easy and handy.
Good luck with the tank! For more detail look at some of the "Shrimp Bowl" threads on here......there's at least 20 of them (best one is the "Newman Shrimp Bowl")

It's on the 2nd or 3rd page on this nano forum.

I'm sure Newman will be posting on this thread soon. He always loves to post on these shrimp bowl topics. I do recommend reading ALL of it to get a jist of the ups and downs along the way.

I'd go for the cherries over the crs in the bowl, w/c daily at first then 2x a week. I don't think you need the bacteria supplement. Bacteria growing on plants should have been enough. And, plants prefer ammonia over nitrate anyway.

On holiday.

You should look into the Walstad Method for starting your bowl!
