Nano tanks and direct sunlight

Well, the other day I decided to put my 1 gallon acrylic cube to good use and try a setup using riccia (initially) and a window. I then discovered what happens when you take riccia from a fish tank and place it in direct sunlight. It gets irriadiated like bacteria through a UV filter. After one day in the window, all I was left with was white strands that were once my bright green riccia. <sigh>
Maybe next time I will have to start off a little out of the direct sun.

Two 1 GA desktops, a 5 gallon, a 2.5 gallon, a 10 gallon, a 20 gallon, a 25 gallon, and two 75 gallon tanks, all planted.
I am an expert on algae, so ask me if you have questions. I know how to grow it, just not how to get rid of it.

I've read that most plants don't like a sudden transition to bright light and that it's better to ease them into it. I don't have much experience with this sort of thing, but it makes sense intuitively. Bummer about your plant loss.

The good news is that there is plenty where that came from, hehheh. That stuff grows like mad for me.
