First planted tank 1g

My very first planted tank. Using a 1 gallon tank i got like 5 yrs ago from petco. I have been wanting to start this for a while. Took me the whole day to setup.

Equipment:
1 gallon Ocean Free
Currently no lighting
Will be an Azoo filter(also bought a long time ago)

Substrate:
Petco black aquarium sand

Hardscape:
Unknown driftwood(gotten free from my uncle)

Plants:
Currently: Anubias Nana
Will have: Taiwan Moss(in different container), maybe Lucky Bamboo, and Brazilian Micro Swords

Fauna:
going to be Cherry Shrimp(with Taiwan Moss)

My newly setup tank (sorry for the glares, i am noob):

Just a quick update .I just added the Taiwan Moss, the filter and some lucky bamboo.

Welcome to the addiction ahha. Not much room to scape with 1g and two decent sized rocks like that but you did a good job for yoiur first attempt. I'd put one of the driftwood pieces in the back corner with the other just sort of in front/beside of it so they're not as... symmetrical, yknow? But I've had a few drinks tonight, so don't listen to me.

Love that you used some anubias though, favorite plant in the world.

Make sure to throw some carbon in the filter haha, you're looking sort of tea-ish from the tannins. Unless of course that's what you're going for :p

Thanks haha. and yea i do need to get rid of the tannins but im leting the tank run for awhile before i do something else with it. and i might take out the bamboo and put in some Cyperus helferi if i can find any at my lfs

you do realize that Cyperus helferi is larger than 3 of your tanks put together?

yea i kinda do, but i dont know what to put as the background plant since i took out the bamboo because i didnt like the look of it in there. So give me any ideas to what to put in the back.

A simple java fern would probably look nice. If you find a small one it would take a long time to outgrow your tank.

Plant tanks and grow well.

Update:
add some chain sword? and an oto to help clean up, but i think it is eating some of the chain sword. . i also added some amanos but it was only temp. and they did a great job eating the algae.
