hey guys :)

hey guys i guess this is my first post i been looking around this forum on infos about planted tanks i got a set up for myself

2.5 gallon minibow
caribsea black sand ( im not sure if this is good ) if you have suggestion id like something better thats more suited for plants currently i use a root tab in it
lava rock
drift wood that wont stop tanning

my plants
water wisteria
anubias
a piece of java fern

Ah that sucks I don't know how to put images hmm my light right now is 10w flourescent light with 5100k daylight atleast that what it says and can you tell me if this is considered high or low Click image for larger version

That would be considered high light I believe. That's like 4 watts per gallon. The substrate should be fine if you're using root tabs.

That looks good. I used almost the same sand, mine was a generic version though, with great success. You should be fine if you use the tabs, and maybe some ferts in the water column for the anubias and java fern.

do you guys think i can grow some foreground plants on this tank? right now i use seachem flourish and flourish excel just a thought cuz right now all the plants i have dont grow tall but instead they grow wider :O which is pretty cool as i dont want them to be tall at all

You should be able to. As long as your light is good and you keep up with the ferts and Excel, you should be alright.

I actually have some wisteria in my tank that I cut back and it creeps along the bottom sort of like a foreground. I also grew some dwarf harigrass in a .9g only with excel and flourish comprehensive.
