Changing the gravel in my tank?

My tank JUST finished cycling, and I am planning on replacing the standard gravel with some eco complete. How do I go about replacing it?

I'm assuming I just pull out the plants and decorations, and scoop out as much gravel as I can while my two tetras hang out in the corner? Then just add the new stuff in by the handful?

If I change the gravel, and then do a large water change, will it restart my cycle? Or set it back a while?

Also my gravel is black, what if I just replace half of it and mix them around together? They look identical to each other.

You might start a mini cycle by removing all the gravel at once. If you don't mind mixing half and half you'll be keeping a lot more of the beneficial bacteria. I would remove all the plants and decorations, but make sure you keep them submerged in water so the bacteria on those don't die. However, before leaving the tetras in there will the eco complete fill the water with debris? Not familiar with it but with sand or gravel you'll always have little particles floating around in the tank for a few days until you filter them out. After you change the gravel, try to limit yourself to a 10 or 20% water change.
