Unhappy Glass Jug Aquariums?

Hello, I really want to start up an aquarium with a clear glass jug (or some sort of vase or bowl). I have been lucky to find a suitable 3 gallon, but I really want something at least 5 gallons. Carboys are real cool, but it would be hell putting anything in there. Anyone know where I can find what I'm looking for? Home Depot, Loews, Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, local gardening stores and thrifts have turned up nothing.

EDIT>>>
My internet search turned up this, but it's ribbed in a really unattractive way: http://www.happyherbalist.com/5gallo...picklejar.aspx. If you like it, grab it.

Aside from, like you said, it being hell to put anything in a carboy, I think the extremely tiny surface area would make it very difficult to exchange gases in the water. I also don't know how you'd put a filter intake and output into the small hole at the top. That pickle jar would be easier, but I agree; really unattractive.

I recently started a bowl using a 2.5 Gallon Fish bowl. It is much more attractive and I could get a filter in it. They are a little more expensive, but this one was for my wife's Betta. She still thinks they can live in a cup with no filtration.

On second thought, considering that 5g pickle jar is a whopping 18" tall, it would look pretty boss fully tanked. But that's talk for a different project. For my 3g jug, to maximize space, I plan to use no filtration, starting off heavily planted. It will be bare tech, having no equipment but a small heater. That kombucha enthusiasts site also offers heat mats that won't crack glass, so if I find some money lying around, I can really go for that swamp-in-a-jar facade. Well, wish me luck.

OK this is easy. Go here:

Pick the first set up. I have these all over the house, much to my husband's dismay!

Here is a 16" bowl I saw online:
