Another 2.5g story

Good day to all.
I've taken down several tanks and finally decided to put one up again in a small scale which I plan to be a low tech, little to no maintainance and on the cheap tank which probably will house some type of dwarf shrimp.

As a start, I got a 2.5g off a trade from CL in exchange of one of my old ps3 game (NFS Pro Street).
I thought why not get what is needed out from trades to build this project and go low tech to keep everything at a minimum.

Then Jameshockey(Thanks again) provided the Red Sea Nano filter in which I had to pay just for shipping the item. I have an extra sponge laying around so I stuck that in and some biomedia from my canister filter. I had some left over flourite red from a previous tank breakdown so i put them again into use. Then I said it seems to be off to nice start.

Here is a pic of the tank, filter and flourite.
The plant is unidentified and just came in with the green neons and oto from volatile.

Initially I was just thinking of setting it up as a window lit tank just to grow some moss and java ferns but looking at seems a little gloomy so i dug out some old parts and came up with a 24 led(5050) car dome light which I used before on the fluval edge, scrap acrylic parts from previous hood builds and came up with this...

Had a small black acrylic arm piece bent and glued to a clear base to hold and prevent it from falling in.

A little messy on the glue but doesn't really affect the lighting. Will try if goo gone does the job on it.

Here is the light working on the tank.
It sits on the inner lip of the plastic frame.

So for Now I am awaiting for the driftwood from a trade with tharsis and some needle/narrow leaf java fern from 7Matt7.

Still looking for some flame moss and some Anubias nana petite and I guess that'll be it.

How did you figure out what plug to use with the LED?

Nothing Ventured. Nothing Gained.

Baadboy11 - Thanks.

Ben. - They have spec sheets on the ads they have for the car dome lights. The leds are 12v dc so the regular 12v 1amp dc power supply will work with them.

Thanks.
I just got the driftwood, had it boiled and tied plants to it.

Here is an update of the tank with driftwood, Narrow leaf Java fern, some pellia, pennywort and some unknown plant on the left corner.

I've always wanted NL Java ferns in my 2.5gal but always feared that it will get too large and start to block light. Tank looks great btw, loving that wood.

Currently out of the hobby

Salamat Tol.
I never thought of it outgrowing but I'll just see how it goes. Got it set up as a very low tech tank so growth will be slow.
