pH rollercoaster

So me and my brother switched rooms and I took about 3/4s or more water out to move it across about a 20 ish foot hallway. it is a ten gallon and the pH of my tap is 7.6 and the pH of the tank was 5.9 or 6 and I added want back to the tank which put the ten gallon at 6.8... i expected it. It started dropping, expected, got to about 6.2 just tested and got 6.8... will test again in about five min. but what are the reasons... Co2 is added and ADA is there too.

The best medicine in your medicine cabinet is clean water.

what are the KH and GH ratings of the water you use? if it isnt very buffered the pH is going to change frequently which isnt good.
