ADA Mini-S Pics: w/ Phoenix Rasboras

Hey all,

Have been bored from the stay at home & decided to set back up my ADA Mini-S last week. (Does ADA still make mini-S tanks?)

I planted it with some old seiryu stones I had and a loot of HC, which I dry started. Lights / Fert schedule is standard.

I added in 14 phoenix rasboras today; they seem pretty happy in the tank (ate some flake food, are surprisingly pretty active)

Attached are pics below.

I had a question for you all, because I'd like some opinions. What type of shrimp should I keep in this tank?

Thinking of either:

SSS+ crystal red shrimps
Black pandas
Blue bolts
or red pintos

Or maybe something else? I want something that will stand out in the tank.

All the best & thanks for checking my tank out

Bump: Uh oh, all my pics are upside down

I am not one to harp on the overstocked train. But you asked. That is a 3 gallon tank you half filled with substrate, rocks, and plants. It thus has 1.5 gallons of swim space and that is way too small for any fish. I would remove the fish and go with just shrimp. Personally I like blue shrimp but red pintos would look nice.

You have to fix those pictures lol!

I love the look of the tank! The primary rock seems a little too close to center, but it's hard to tell in the pics.

What filter do you have? I'm not familiar with Phoenix Rasbora but it does seem like a lot. I'm going to start a 10g and my initial findings are 6-8 1" adult size fish. Granted if you have a quality filter that helps - but eventually you run out of space and the fish pick each other off.

As for shrimp - I like a variety. As long as they're compatible. Looking forward to more pics!

Easy way to upload pictures is to use tap talk. This forum does host its own images. This will cause up side down images because the browser doesnít know what is the top of the image.

Tank looks great, though the pictures are upside down. 14 rasboras does sound like a lot for 3g tank, but hey if you can make it work man go for it! Blue bolts are my favorites right now, but something red may pop a little more.

Phoenix rasbora - micro fish with a lot of character. Good luck. Once they settle in they start showing their stunning colours. Under rgb lights they look truly outstanding.
