New 9 gallon

UNS45. I've been lurking here for a while, and I finally got around to trying my hand at a planted tank. Although I have a dimmer w/ this Twinstar I'm a little concerned with too much light. Any recommendations on the level of "dim" I should use? How about total time per day with the light on? Any other suggestions or tips are welcomed!

@sloo50 , Tank looks great. I love the hardscape and think you plants should fill that in nicely. I'm pretty new myself, but I feel like 8 hours/day is where most people start. I see the glass pipes and the sterilizer/O2 injector, but are you running CO2, or any ferts? For intensity, Twinstar lights seem to be a very high end light, capable of growing anything. If you're keeping it low tech, consider turning it down to 50-75% and keep an eye on it. I've been messing with my first 10G planted tank for the better part of a year and just starting to find the right balance for my current stocking. I find playing with settings and seeing what happens to be the best part of these smaller tanks. Best of luck and can't wait to see this progress!

Are you running a canister? If so, what did you go with? I have a SunSun 603b under my tank and been very happy with it, but must have looked into 10 different options before I settled on that one.
