Finally Got the Tank Up and Running

I jumped in here a while ago, asked a few questions about the tank I was planning, and kind of disappeared. Things happened, a few of them were Things. But I was working on the tank in between, and it's now up and running. I think it will look pretty good once the plants have a chance to settle in and grow out some.

Tank: Landen 45P (about 10 gallons) rimless. No cover.
Substrate: Flourite Black
Filter: Eheim Ecco 60 cannister with lily pipes. Had to put the skimmer inlet on because there was scum building up on the surface
Light: Fluval Nano clip-on
Water parameters are good for the most part. 0 ammonia and NO2. Around 5ppm NO3, but that's my tap water. I'm doing 40-50% water changes weekly.
Livestock currently is 6 cardinal tetras and a Nerite snail. I'm thinking of adding another snail, and maybe a few shrimp later on. Can I put a few more fish in there? Maybe another small school or a single really pretty showcase fish? Suggestions welcome.

Here it is a few days ago:

How are the plants doing? If they're growing well then by all means add a few more fish. I'm partial to smaller schooling fish like the smaller rasboras (ie Phoenix) but maybe a dwarf gouramis or even a betta. Maybe look into a scarlet badis? Or Endler's livebearers.

If you keep with smaller tetras you can add shrimp to the mix.

The plants are doing pretty well. The sword keeps putting out new leaves, the moss is growing all over, and I've had to trim the bacopa several times because it's growing out of the tank.

I looked at Engler's livebearers but I read they can be jumpers? The tank is open top, so I am not sure they would be good. There's a lfs here that's not super close but within driving distance. They look like they have gotten in a whole bunch of small tetras and rasboras recently. I may have to take a ride this weekend. Oh, darn...
