Fletch's Fishbowl Shenanigans 2019
It has been a while since I posted any of my creations on this forum. Work life took up most of my energy, and distracted me from my favorite hobby. I was still making small scale aquascapes in a variety of vessels, but didnít have the time or energy to post detailed descriptions and photos of the results. I solved that problem by retiring, so now I have more time to devote to my creations. This post is about an aquascape that I am working on for a coordinator of a microbiology lab. It took me a while to find an appropriate vessel for this persons office, but I finally found a decorative container designed to look like a large Erlenmeyer culture flask.
Bump: The growing medium is a mixture of Fluorite, Miracle Grow Organic Potting soil (MGOPS), and activated carbon. The MGOPS and Fluorite were washed a few times with water, dried and a small amount of activated carbon was added. This growth medium was place into a cardboard ring in the center of the vessel. Natural aquarium gravel was added to cover the growth medium and the rest of the bottom of the vessel. Water was then added to barely cover the gravel and left for 24 hours to allow the growth medium to fully hydrate.
Why is the "next" tank, always the most interesting?
