Let me know what you think!

I love the depth and darkness in this tank. Really an Apisto paradise.

Yah the intricacies and depth in the wood are really nice for the apistos and the shrimp. It's hard to see much of it with that picture though, I'll try to add son more photos later on. I'm also adding son mini almond leaves later in this week. Thanks for the input!

Awesome! so dense, really makes it look larger then it is

...if I take the dishwasher out and use paper plates I can put a tank in the kitchen without losing counter space

Very nice tank, would love to know more detail on lighting, substrate, etc. I'm looking at setting up a similar tank actually. I like the emersed growth quite a bit. Do you keep the emersed leaves moist?

Hey guys, this is my follow up to your questions!

For lighting I'm using a Wave Point HO led 6500k lights. My light schedule is on for 4 hours, off for 4 hours, then on again for 6 hours so I can enjoy the tank at night when I'm home. I believe they have 18 HO leds on them, here is a link to the product.

For the substrate, I'm using Ada amazonia on top of a layer of expanded clay seperated by window screen. My tank used to be a paludarium made for dart frogs (wasn't added yet), but I converted it into a regular fish tank only after 5 months. The fish itch got me 🙂.

For ferts, I do the EI method with liquid ferts and 50% water changes every week. No co2 or excel. The filter is an in-tank over flow filter, the Whisper 10i.

And for the emersed plants in the back area, they don't need any additional humidity as they are pretty common house plants and just the roots and stems are in the water. The only plant that grew submerged first and grew out of tank is the Hygrophila. The pothos and ficus were rooted in a seperate water filled jar first to grow roots, and then added to the tank.

For the water flow, I have a pump in the back corner below the false bottom, plumbed to a splitter and 2 outlets to shoot water into the front area. Here are more pictures after I added the mini cattapa leaves, also some more pictures of substrate layer and plumbing! Bonus picture of the tank before converting to a fully submerged setup. Sorry for the glare, I'm not sure how to take some pictures without it.Click image for larger version
