Filter options for UNS Planted 2 Gallon Cube

Hi! New at this planted tank hobby. I knew I wanted to go small but I am wondering what filter options I have?

I got a Tetra Whisper 1-3g internal filter and it works fine BUT I really hate the amount of space it takes up in the tank. The HOB filters I’ve seen are all too big and would probably stir up the soil, and the small ones I HAVE seen all come with tanks in nano packages. Advice or Recs? If you can, include links. Thanks!

In case it’s needed, I mainly want to keep snails, a few shrimp and maybe a few small fish (still need to research what type would work in a tank so small). That’s all later once the plants start growing, though. Snails only for now!

Maybe the Penn-Plax Cascade 170 internal filter? For reference I use it as an internal filter for a 6" cube tank, and it doesn't take up the full space I've given it. It claims to be able to filter up to 10 gallons but it's so small I doubt it. Up to 3 gallons though, I'm pretty confident in it.

I suggest the Azoo 60 (not the 150) if size is your primary concern. As small as the 150 is, the 60 is even smaller. I own both, and use the Azoo 60 on my 4 gallon UNS cube.

Thanks! I got the Azoo, and it works so much better.
