My little tank 2.5g

Just a little snail and shrimp tank. Nothing fancy.

Is that an azoo mignon series HOB? If so, why not use the included sponge prefilter? Baby shrimp will get sucked up in there without it!

It's a Deep Blue filter

Ah, yes I see now. Probably made by same manufacturer and re-branded. I would try to hunt down one on amazon if not too expensive. They use the same size prefilter for both the 60-150 mignon series. The fluval spec one would work (with a ziptie) and it's sold at almost every big box pet store but it's a little bulky on those filters. The mignon one doesn't clog very often and is just the right size.

You could also look into a stainless steel mesh one. Those look nice too. Never tried one because the sponges work so well. I have a bunch of babies feeding off of mine as we speak. An extra form of biological filtration doesn't hurt either.

Nice, what did you use for a lid? Because, I have the same 2.5 gallon tank and I couldn't find one, so I was forced to make one.

I bought one on line. I believe an aqueon. Made for the tank. Fits perfect.
