Heater for RCS 2.5 gallon tank

I have a 2.5 gallon RCS tank with about 20 shrimp in there. Got them for around a dollar a piece and I would like to start my own colony. I have duckweed, frogbit, anarcharis, a moss ball, water wysteria, a banana plant, hornwort, and java moss in my tank. I live in Central Florida and it gets a little cold during this time of year and their water is staying at 70 degrees. I read that RCS need 80 degree water to breed properly. The shrimp are all being active and playing in all the plants so I do not think it is affecting them now. I am just so scared a heater will kill everything since the tank is so small. Will they start a colony without it being 80 degrees? My plants are also fine, they bubble all the time!

Thanks. If you have any suggestions for the carpet of the tank I would love to hear it! Looking for something easy like the plants listed above.

Yes they will breed at 70 they just do so more slowly and shrimplets grow more slowly than when it's warm. I wouldn't add a heater since it's unnecessary and a risk in a tank that small. it'll warm up in a few weeks and they'll multiply faster than you can believe.

Shrimp are cold water...not tropical. They do not need 80 degree water and probably would not do well in water that warm. My tanks stay a pretty consistent 72 in my house with no heater. Sometimes temp might drop 2-4 degrees but it doesn't effect them. It's not a fast drop or rise in temps and well within their ideal parameters.
