7.5 gallon stocking help

Hey everyone! I have an Island 7.5 gallon cube tank that is what sparked my growing passion for this hobby. I am rehoming all the original inhabitants (minus two mystery snails) and will be revamping the tank. I want to add a sandy substrate (taking out the colored gravel) add lots of live plants, driftwood, and/or rocks.

I have been back and forth on stocking ideas, and am having a tough time deciding! Thought a post on a friendly forum may give me some guidance ? I have considered moving the snails and getting 3 Dwarf Puffers, but I am not sold on species only tanks. I also adore the look of CPD's, sparking gourami's, and scarlet bandis. My ideal setup would allow for one or two Oto's for cleanup, a centerpiece fish if possible, and a small school of something lively.

Would love any helpful imput you guys may have on this, or any other stocking ideas. Thanks for your time!

Well plan B you sound more enthusiastic about as it is. Doesn't sound like you need suggestions.

Don't ask for advice. Ask for information, gather lots of information from different reliable sources. Then use the information to make your own advice.

One or two otos and two/three (maybe only one - some debate there) dwarf puffers sounds fun for a 7.5g. Lots of plants at the bottom and some spindly wood for some rhizome plants for vertical filling should keep them busy and comfortable.
That setup gets my vote, if only self-serving for me since I'm considering something like that (typical 10g, though).

I can only grow plants when they're completely under water. Everything else is doomed.

Other suggestions might be:

7-8 chili rasboras or 7-8 male endlers

and 5 habrosus cories or hastatus cories
