New Nano tank

Well this is my new ( well new to me ) 2.5 tank. I dont know what i want to do with it yet. It used to be my moms betta tank, but i recently swapped her a ten gal for it lol. Im downsizing. But right now it has HC and dwarf Hairgrass with some fissidions moss attached to my driftwood. I really like it so far. I am hooking up my DIY CO2 tonight for it Anyway here are the pics

the pics came out really dark and make it look really bad i think

I am thinking of putting a male wild betta in here. If i can find one that is lol

Just a heads up, I have had bad experience with the filter you currently have. I recommend Toms Mini internal Filter from Petsmart. It comes with a spray bar! the unit is only $15 and it is a sponge filter.

The filter you are using (for me) was unreliable. Any water evaporation caused the filter to not work well. And the flow sucks. Plus sometimes the air doesn't go up and just comes out the side...

Here is a link to what it looks like:

You can cut and recap the spray bar (which rotates however you need it) to fit your tank needs.

I use this filter in my 1.5 gallon and I have 2 of them in a 10 gallon tank.

Anubias Nana Petite!!! Its a low light broad leaved plant, the leaves are a perfect size for a 2.5 You can get it off of ebay for real cheap. (like $10-$15)

Honestly, I'm not a grass person. The only grass I have actually liked was Dwarf Sagettaria, and then some Crypts which are more grass like... The more I work with leafy plants the more I like them. Grass would still look awesome, but I would do at least one leafy plant to add some contrast. (Aquascaping 101)

Doesn't blyxa get really tall? Hair grass looks awesome if you can get it to spread and stay mega green (I think co2 may be required)

Looking good! I second the hair grass, if you can keep it growing well.

dwarf is smaller obviously so it might be the better choice for the mini tank. If I had to do one or the other I would do dwarf.
