Help a confused Nano noob decide!

Well I have a 5.5 nano growing out before I transfer it into my office at work. Origonally I was looking at putting some cherry shrimp and 5 CPD's in the tank. Well my wife and I found an absolutely beautiful blue beta that we liked. Would the beta do ok with the CPD's? I am not worried about water quality, it is a decently planted tank that is over filtered. Of course I would not be transferring any of my Cherrys from the 36 gal to the 5.5 if I went with the beta.

Probably.

Bettas are all "individuals," though, and some will tolerate tankmates while others won't- so you'll just have to keep an eye on things.

I think CPDs have a better chance than many other fish though, since they're so shy and tend to keep to the bottom of the tank.

Thanks Lauralee. I think I might get the Beta, it is just to beautiful to pass up so I might go grab it tomorrow. It looks soo pitiful in that tiny cup. If the CPD's get pestered by the beta, I cal always put them in my 36 gal.
