Granite with green veins?

I stumbled upon some rocks today and found some nice pieces, a few that happen to have quartz veins. Among these there were a few that had green tinges along those veins...anyone know if these would be safe to use in a shrimp tank? I'm worried it may be a mineral vein that contains copper or something.
Thanks,
Andrew
