I have alot of 1.5 nano sprimp questions for ya!

Ok so another thread has me wanting to do a nano shrimp tank so I have lots of questions and hope you all can help!

Sadly money is an issue. Here are the things that I do have:

I have a 1.5 nano tank
small pump that came with the tank
lots of java moss from my 55gal
anubias
gravel-nothing special
Lighting-I have no idea what the wattage is of these little led bulbs are but it came attached to the tank.

My plants will be low light and maybe add some oakleaf watersprite to float or not.

So will the lighting be enough for the low light plants and rcs?

Will the tank stay stable enough for rcs? I know how sensitive shrimp can be.

Will I have to cycle the tank?

I'm just starting to get my 55gal straightened back out and take the 10 gal down and it's bee quite some time since i've had rcs so i'll probably try and get some more from epicfish since they were awsome the last time.

So do you think this will work?

If so how many shrimp would be ok to put in there?

Any and all tips good or bad are appreciated!!!!!

You guys are the best!!

Thank you!!!!

Cindy

Oh and let me know if put this in the wrong area, wasn't sure if it should be in the nano area or shrimp area.

Well, for starters, 1.5gl is only that when it's empty. So once you add that anubias and gravel, it's going to be less.

Also, I'm not sure what the temp is like down in Illi, but you might want to take that into consideration also.

The moss sounds good, and your lighting sounds fine for a low light tank that has mostly slow growers in it.

And yes, you will want to still cycle the tank.

oh yes the heater! I do have a small heater even for it!

Will a guppy or two do the trick for cycling do you think?

Thanks a bunch for the help!!!

you should take some water out of your 55 and squezze your filter material from the 55 into the 1.5, this will help the tank cycle faster

Yeah, if you 'seed' your tank using media from another tank, it should cycle faster- plus that way you don't have to put a guppy through an ammonia bath, so to speak.
