That has to be the best looking carpet I have ever seen! Great job!

Thanks! I am going to give it another 1month. I really like it like this. Looks nice, and I don't have to worry about algae problems.

YA, looking at your threads really got me to come up with this. I don't know how I feel about the HC spreading all over the place.

It's been wonders growing the carpet emersed. It's the lazy man's method.

Took awhile. I started this tank around maybe december 09. I really didnt expect the UG to take so well. UG took a long time to establish, but once it did, it was easy to grow.

Don't worry about the HC spreading. The UG will prevent it from throwing roots into the soil so it will end up growing bushy as opposed to spreading outwards. It'll be easy to contain in the center, in other words.

WOW, very nice looking tank. Simple and clean. Would the UG melt when it transition to aquatic form?

I don't think it will melt. It should behave just like HC and other plants that people grow emersed.

Make a new tank! HAHAHA it's never too late to start a new tank. Its super fun!

I can't wait for the tank to fill up a bit more so I can fill the tank and add some nice fish. Day-by-day growth is amazingly slow!

That is beautiful.

It's definitely time to go out to storage, grab one of my spare 10's, clean it, and try my hand.

Thank you for the inspiration ch3f!

Bravo! That looks great, well done!

As far as your dry start method did you just saran wrap the top and spray everything down once a day?
