Question Will ick starve itself with no host

I bought some plants recently and what do you know my 5 comets now have ick. If I put them in a quarantine, treat them, will the ick in the tank die out without a host if I turn up the temp.

yes, but it'll take about a month to be safe.

Unfortunately I have sand capped sub planted with dwarf baby tears so vacuuming will be hard. I was hoping I could just starve it with heat. A month seems like a long time but better safe than sorry.
