Baby betta nutrition?

Yesterday I brought home a new betta from a local pet store. They had just gotten a shipment from the breeder, and a double tail powder blue handsome boy caught my eye. However he is tiny. And when I say tiny, I mean TINY. Half the size of a typical adult betta. From that I'm guessing he might be 5-6 months old.

So I'm wondering what you guys feed your young bettas. He's too small for pellets (unless I crush them), and too small for brine shrimp and bloodworms. I'm thinking of giving him a mix of daphnias and crushed pellets. Would that be nutritious enough?

Daphnia and crushed pellets should work. Hatching out baby brine shrimp (instructions on the internet) may also be useful. You can chop up brine shrimp/bloodworms as well using a razor blade to get them to fit its mouth more.

So many fish/plants/inverts to keep, not enough aquaria.
