I thought they sterilized the fish they sell so they can't breed? Though I'm not sure how effectively they can sterilize them w/o damaging the fish. I doubt they've got a spay & neuter program going on....

Hey, I love my albino BN pleco. More yellow than white, and I seems to be vigorous enough. Some other albino fish do look kinda sickly though.

Now if I could get my HOB outfall to glow like this, I'd do it in a heartbeat:

I won't admit to breaking the law, but when I had my LFS I did once experiment with them. At least the batch of fish I had at that time were fertile, eggs hatched, and babies were glo-colored. I never did cross colors to see what percentage babies were each, etc. because I'm not fond of them but now wish I had.

I'm also a fan of albino Ancistrus.

I like wild-type fish myself, but who cares if they are GMO?

I think koi-angels are an abomination, but to each there own. At least you know the GMO fish are from healthy stock

Balloon molly anyone, all I could do is shake my head. They can barely swim. Why anybody would want a fish like this beyond my comprehension.

Peshaw!

Glowlight Tetras are a very pretty fish when fed good food and their water is soft and tanninish. Their bluish white fin stripes, the red irridescent stripe and upper eye edge and their body develops a lovely brownish-yellow undertone, They 're one of the Tetras I consider beautifully understated. Much like Head and Taillights, Dawn Tetras, and Tet Von Rios.

I have some of the tetras, and with just the stripe, they don't look unnatural. I'm not sure I noticed any special branding when I got mine. They look more low-profile than neon tetras.

Style: Organic potting soil, sand, gravel, wood, plants, moss, snails, shrimp, small fish, dual siestas
Tech : Small tanks, Fluval Plant 3.0 Nano, Top Fin MF10, Eheim Skim 350, Tunze 3161, Neptune Apex EL

Here's mine from April of 2017.. The males develop those lovely actinic white fin stripes The youngsters this group spawned are even prettier.

Glowlights were one of my first tetras; I definitely agree with "understated beauty"!

@Streetwise, if you are referring to glowlights they are not amongst the genetically engineered glofish!

If it can make someone money, it's not sacred (unless it being sacred is what generates the money).
