Are hydra really that bad?

I have an explosion of them in my fry tank since putting in a new java fern and feeding brine shrimp. I've had a few green hydra in all my tanks for a while, but they seem to remain few, and don't bother anything. In the fry tank there are hundreds now. These are very small fry, some of the smallest egg layer fish fry (peacock gudgeon) but I have yet to see a hydra grab one, or find any dead fry in the tank. I have literally not found a single dead fry so far. I'm wondering if it's necessary to dose it with someothing like panacure, or if the risk of that medicine hurting the fry is worse than the risk of the hydra attacking. I'll reiterate i've not see any fry even getting close to them, they are very skittish.

I've never had an issue with Hydra but a picture of one catching a baby guppy in a book I had when I was a kid traumatized me forever. Have you seen them eating the baby brine shrimp?

If they aren't killing these fry I would just wait and see. Once the fry are larger and you can move them then you can do whatever it takes to rid yourself of the hydra.
