Stocking Options

After a very constructive thread about a school size for neon tetras in a 10 gallon, I wanted to start one specifically for my stocking options. It sounds like my plans of neons and Harlequin rasboras is not a good plan, so I'm looking for the expertise of the forum for help. I currently have one male guppy in the tank. Looking forward to hearing the ideas!

Personally I'm a fan of nano fish. you could easily keep a school of 8 of any of the following species without any issues:
Celestial Pearl Danio
Ember Tetra
Microrasbora kubatai
Goldring danio
any of the pygmy cory species
any of the boraras species

Alternatively, you could get a few more guppies (male) as well. One of my friends runs a 10 gallon with about 6 guppies in it right now.

So many fish to keep, not enough aquaria.

If you'd like at least 2 schools, look at some of the rasboras or boraras and then look at one of the 3 dwarf cory species - Habrosus, Pygmaeus, Hastatus. Can also consider dwarf pencilfish with one of the above cories species.

Trigonostigma hengeli (glowlight rasbora) is similar to Harlequin rasboras, just slightly smaller. You could keep either one with some dwarf cories in my opinion.
