I've bred other rasboras (hets, chilis) by moving the adults to a cycled 10 gallon with a sponge filter when I notice females getting plump. It's near impossible to retrieve the eggs from your display tank, and the filter and other inhabitants will probably find the fry before you can. Once in a blue moon one has grown up in my planted tanks, but for all the spawning that must go on, it's a very low survival rate. I'd say getting a breeder tank would be money well spent.
Nothing good happens fast in an ecosystem.
