To Move or Not Move Fry from Community

My Sparkling Gourami are actively breeding in my 20long community tank. No batches survived until now. At least 8 fry have reached well past the free swimming stage due to large plant mass/water lettuce - they're easily visible with the naked eye and one of them has patterning developing (pics attached).

I have an empty but cycled Fluval Spec V - should I move the larger fry there to grow out or leave them in the 20gal?

My dilemma is they seem to be doing so well in the community that I'm afraid 1) there isn't enough plant mass/infusoria in the Spec and 2) the change will stress them out too much (although that can be negated by filling the Spec with old water from the 20).

From what I've read everyone says to remove them, but I'd hate to screw up a good thing.

Pic 3: the largest fry w/a stripe + patterning

PS A new batch of fry hatched yesterday - once free swimming, should I move them too? Or move them *instead of* the larger fry?

IMHO the larger fry are good to go, they made it past the initial food stage apparently. The younger ones you could move over to increase survival rates. Thats what I would do anyhow if I wanted to grow the babies.

What all do you have in your community tank?

Thanks for your thoughts - I think I'll move the smaller ones when they can be taken away from Casanova's (the Dad lol) care.

Community Stocking

3 Sparkling Gouramis (1m/2f)
10 Hengeli Rasbora
5 Bronze Corys

All do very well together - wanted a peaceful community.

If wanting to grow out a bunch, I would move them but the methods will matter. For small things that tend to mash easy or get hung up in nets, I like to stick a tube down and suck them into a container to pour into the new tank. My preference is a bowl with a rounded bottom so that there are few places for a tiny fry to stick in the corners, etc.
This seems to be a somewhat natural thing for the adults as a big thing coming by to suck a few fry is a pretty normal thing in the wild and it does seem to create a better parent for future fry if they are of a type fish with some of the more advanced thinking. When doing this, I find a helper to hold the bowl and watch for results to be very helpful as it does get hard to find the fry, start and stop the siphon and not run the bowl over!
