Custom Intake and Outlet for Fluval FX6 is it worth the work?

Hi all

I am wondering if anyone has even made a custom inlet/outlet for the Fluval FX6 I am thinking of starting this project but would like some feed back before I begin.

I like how filter works but I am not a fan of the tubing it uses and would like to switch it to standard reinforced vinyl tubing and may be add a spray bar to the outlet.

Thanks all

I'd not even call it a project. Just cut and glue few 1-1'5" PVC pipes together. Drill the bottom for a strainer and you're done. You don't have to use Fluval tubing. Normal PVC tubing works just fine.
I have it on my Fluval 306 and Rena XP L because I also didn't like their in/outlets.
oh, and spray painted it black. let sit in water for a day and put it in the tank. It works great for 3 yrs now.
