Filter Housing for Cerges?

So both my Lowes and Home Depot both don't carry the whirlpool or GE filter housings anymore. I got a different one at Home Depot, but the cap looks completely different then all the videos I've seen online.

So I ended up getting this one:
Glacier Bay Advanced Household Water Filtration System-HDG2VS4 - The Home Depot

You can't see the inflow on it, but the out-flow port still goes down the filter tubing. Will this suffice for a Cerges?

Well I guess that's the best answer I could ask for! Only other question I have, since you seem to have done it.... How did you get the teflon tape to work on the brass on brass fittings? I tried one layer, I tried five. And it will not start to thread on to the other fitting with the teflon on it. I'm using leftover plumbing stuff from my sump, its the gray teflon tape.

As long as you wind it in the right direction it should thread easily. I use 4-5 turns with the white Teflon tape. Just start turning the brass fitting with the male threads counter clockwise slowly while applying a little force, it will click and seat in the female threads and you know it won't cross thread. Then start turning it clockwise.

Unless your 2 fittings are different types of threads ? Do they screw together with no tape?

Yes. I just can't get it to thread with the tape. Even one layer it won't turn....

Try only wrapping the tape with the first thread exposed. That might help get it started. I used all new fittings and it went together very smoothly. Are these used fittings?
