Type of silicone to use?

What type of silicone should I use for a DIY reactor type filter? Can I use automotive grade silicone gasket maker? I have a tube of versachem superclear (part# 73009) lying around in the garage. For the reactor I will be using various plastics with pvc piping

Silicone does not bond well to most plastics. Specific formulations are substantially better than others, but I'm not aware of any long term tests.

If you are using PVC fittings, use PVC cement. There are several designs that use only PVC (or switch to threaded connections for other plastics).

Mixing plastics makes things more challenging but epoxy or jbweld (preferably variations designed for plastic) are often recommended.

Make sure to coat the male and female part of the pvc tubings in pvc cement before joining them.
Do this outside or a well ventilate area. It'll smell.
