Let the dumb decisions begin
To start out with I'm bulding a stand for my 125g. I'll fill you all in on the back story. Bought the tank and painted the background black and went to lowes and purchased some lumber. I had the cutlist in a memo on my phone and seen that they cut lumber for you.
Here is a list of things I did wrong the 1st time:
1)Trusted thier cuts
2)Didn't have the proper tools ie. long enough level, chopsaw, etc
3)Completely finishing out the stand before testing the tank on it. Puttied and painted over all the screws so I couldn't tear the stand down to correct errors.
Needless to say there were major issues with the back corners not being level that no amount of shimming would fix. Luckily for me the wood for the stand only cost $23 dollars and I rebuilt it anew last night and the tank sits perfectly flush and everything is level! Now I get to putty, sand, and paint all over again! Then the final test with the tank full.
