got some spare glass.. any idea's?

Okay, so i got about 200 panes of 10mm thick glass laying around which are 15x15x15 inch. I was thinking of making +- 40 breeder cubes for shrimp and small fish. Problem is, witouth cutting the glass, i'd get 2 panes sticking out at the top(or bottom, depending how i make the cubes) for 10mm(the thickness of the botom plate). You guys see any way around that? i tried cutting a few of the glass panes, but its waay too much work cutting all of them and the success rate isn't too high either because you are cutting off such a small piece.

any ideas are welcome..

Small tanks are addictive. You can have separate biotopes in each one.

A - Hide the uneven or excess in the back of the tank.

B - Ask a Pro to cut the glass.

I think your only choice is either to trim the glass or end up with an overlap somewhere. Maybe if you put all 4 sides on top of the bottom plate, then you'll get an overlap on a vertical corner/edge. You might be able to sort of "hide" the overlap with an exterior bead of silicone. Certainly not ideal; but it should work and you could make the overlapped edge the back of the tank so its not blatantly obvious.

To get all the panes even on top you'd have to put them on top of the bottom panel and use a chase around with the verticals. That leaves an over hang on all four sides though. But it would be manageable.

Or you cut 1/2 of the panes down by the thickness of 2 sheets of the glass. About 3/4"

I'd probably just let the two side panels sit higher and use them to support lights or something. I doubt anyone will even notice if the tanks/equipment are arranged well.

You could also do something really sketchy by rotating the bottom piece slightly off square. Doing so would allow all four panes of glass to partially rest on the base (half on/half off, diagonally). You should be able to make it watertight although the structural integrity might suffer.
