Rgb cob led

I love playing with these COBs.
They are pretty cheap and very easy to strap onto a cheap computer heat sink.

Played with this today. Its not all that bright for a main light like my Yuji COB, but I was thinking one Yuji COB and one RGB cob on separate channels. Then you can tailor your lights, get moon effects, etc, etc. The RGB has built in remote and dimming as well.

The RGB pictures are obvious, the most correct color rendered one is the white setting turned all the way down, the violet one is with just blue and red on and turned all the way down.

How many watts is this one?

There's a 100W version for $90 and 50W for $50.

50W off Evilbay, it was $23 for the whole package. Heatsink was $8 so about $31 into it.
But those EB ones tend to be way over rated.

You can have all sorts of fun, sun rise/sun set colors, moonlight, and most importantly, disco lights!

Interesting, I'd like to see these over a tank, I'm in the design phase for my led for a 40b till I get a 90 tall. So far I have the driver selected but choosing between 2 50w cool white+2 50w warm white or 2 100w neutrals is difficult. Sorry for the mini hijack, but if you have pics of this on a tank it would be cool to see

I need to permanently mount it up in the heatsink, then I'll throw it over a tank early this week.

All of that...especially the disco...but my idea is it allows you to tailor the spectrum to whatever you like.

You want to make your Cardinals glow....dial in a little more blue...

I'd like to see this when complete if possible, do you have a journal for your tank?

No tank journal yet...

If any of this works out I'll hang them over my new 50 gallon tank that I will be setting up later this year. BUT in general, a lot of this is just playing.

I never really accomplish anything useful!

But I did redo the whole thing on a different heat sink. Had to drill holes to mount it but it is a much better and cheaper system.
The heatsink and fan was $6.99 and is a much cleaner install.

I'm CADing up a hanger system as we speak.

Your 50w came with driver and controller? Are you allowed to link via pm?

The one starting with 2..the IR receiver looks much better than the one I got. And not that it really matters, but the wattage is marked on the driver. Mine is not.

Correct, white is all banks on. The remote has a white button you push it and then you can control brightness.

Messed with the RGB today, I redid the mounting system....100% better! Really clean and easy! Nailed it!
1. get the cheap AMD CPU cooler for $7.
2. Drilled holes and taped them for a #6 screw.
3. 3d printed a hanger that clips right to the fan.
