Diy led builds with pics

I personally love 10000k look with thise pinkish duch style look... so made somethings like these...

This is the new build for my shrimps only plant dumping tank

9x 1w x 10000k
6x 1w x 6500k
1x 1w blue
1x 1w red 660nm
1x 1w warm white











This is the old build for dutch style

9x 1w 10000k
3x 1w red 660nm
3x 1w warm white
3x 1w blue
2x 1w 420nm uv

Very nice. Thanks for posting.
Is that a standard heat sink you are using or something converted from another use? I'm certain there are many heat sinks that I have missed but that looks very much like the frame from a sliding door!
That would be interesting to me as the door frames are pretty easy for me to get and I would not hesitate to convert one.

Yes door frames... heatsinks are too expensive here, this was the cheapest... so got this... works same... i guess they are best for 1 to 3w leds...

Very good. I've always thought there should be a better use for the old frames. Can't say that I will use too many but a few will avoid the recycle at least!! Thanks for the info.

Well if u see, both the materials are pure aluminium... there are also thicker frames available, so 1 can use them for 10w cob leds too.. the cost of these frames are 25% of the heatsinks in my country, so we can save momey for buying plants or filters...

I keep thinking of my grandchildren. They may want to have some of these resources left to use when they grow up so anything I can convert and save going to the landfill makes one small piece they may use in the future.
